Anisha Lalvani has lived in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and London. She has a Master’s of Arts degree in English Literature (Honours) from Mumbai University. She has worked in publishing with Yoda Press, and on various literary projects including the literary television programme Kitaabnama: Books and Beyond, and the Jaipur Literature Festival. She has also worked on communications and programming at the Ranga Shankara theatre in Bengaluru.
After deciding to make a switch to the development sector, her first job in this field was with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences on monitoring and evaluation of CSR projects. She then completed her Master’s in Development Studies in SOAS, London. After this, she worked for Sattva Consulting, a social impact consulting firm in research, and marketing & communications capacities and Urja Trust, an NGO that works on rescue and rehabilitation of homeless women, on fundraising and content writing.
She is currently working as Senior Associate, Communications at the World Resources Institute, a think tank and research organisation that works at the nexus of environment, economic opportunity and human well-being.
Girl Disrupted is her first novel.
